MHT-CET 2026 PCM Objection Window Results: Extra Marks, Answer Key Changes & What It Means for Your Score

alt text The Maharashtra State CET Cell has officially released the objection redressal notice for MHT-CET 2026 PCM Group First Attempt (held April 11–20, 2026).

If you appeared for the PCM exam and raised objections — or even if you didn't — this update directly affects your final score and percentile before CAP Round 1 begins.

Here's a complete breakdown.

What Was the Objection Window?

After every MHT-CET attempt, CET Cell opens an objection tracker on mahacet.org where candidates can challenge questions or answer keys they believe are incorrect — by paying a small tracker fee per objection.

For the PCM First Attempt (16 sessions, April 11–20, 2026), the objection window was announced via Notice No. TED-1225/C.R.56, dated 19 May 2026.

The final verdict was published on 29 May 2026 via Notice No. TED-1226/C.R.08/MHT-CET-PCM/OT/2026/1251.

Objections Summary: How Many Were Valid?

A total of 76 unique questions were objected across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. After expert review:

Subject Total Objections Raised Valid Objections
Physics 33 12
Chemistry 29 2
Mathematics 14 2
Total 76 16

Out of 76 challenges, 16 were upheld — a ~21% validity rate. This is significant, especially in Physics, where 12 questions were accepted.

Full Marks Awarded: Complete Session-Wise List

For these questions, experts found the question itself to be invalid or unanswerable. As a result, every candidate who appeared in that specific session automatically receives full marks — no action required from your side. alt text

Physics (12 Questions — +1 Mark Each)

Exam Date Shift Question No.
11 April 2026 Morning 203941
11 April 2026 Evening 204081
13 April 2026 Evening 204382
13 April 2026 Evening 204417
15 April 2026 Morning 204533
15 April 2026 Evening 204725
16 April 2026 Evening 204996
16 April 2026 Evening 205008
17 April 2026 Evening 205318
19 April 2026 Evening 206018
20 April 2026 Evening 206313
20 April 2026 Evening 206328

Chemistry (2 Questions — +1 Mark Each)

Exam Date Shift Question No.
11 April 2026 Morning 204004
19 April 2026 Evening 206061

Mathematics (2 Questions — +2 Marks Each)

Exam Date Shift Question No. Marks
15 April 2026 Morning 204676 +2
17 April 2026 Morning 205270 +2

Important: MHT-CET awards 2 marks per correct Maths answer. Both valid Maths objections give +2 marks to all candidates in those sessions — a bigger percentile boost than a Physics or Chemistry correction.

Answer Key Updated: 4 Questions

For these 4 questions, the answer key itself was wrong. The correct answer has now been updated in the database.

What this means for you:

  • If you marked the newly accepted answer → you will now receive marks.
  • If you marked the old (incorrect) key → you will lose marks previously awarded. | Exam Date | Shift | Subject | Question No. | |---|---|---|---|

| 11 April 2026 | Morning | Physics | 203957 | | 15 April 2026 | Morning | Physics | 204557 | | 15 April 2026 | Morning | Chemistry | 204611 | | 16 April 2026 | Evening | Chemistry | 205080 |

Check your response sheet carefully against these question numbers.

What Happens to Your Score Now?

CET Cell will incorporate all changes into the result database and reprocess scores automatically. You do not need to apply separately or fill any form.

Your updated percentile will reflect in the revised scorecard on mahacet.org.

Fee Refund for Valid Objections

If you paid the objection tracker fee for a question that was found to be valid, CET Cell will refund the fee to the original payment method. No separate claim is needed.

How Much Can Your Score Change?

Even +1 mark in MHT-CET can shift your percentile meaningfully, especially between the 90–99.5 percentile range where competition is densest.

Here's a rough idea:

Score Change Likely Percentile Impact
+1 (Physics/Chemistry) ~0.5 to 1 percentile shift
+2 (Mathematics) ~1 to 2 percentile shift
Multiple corrections in one session Can shift 2–5+ percentile points

These are estimates. Actual impact depends on your total raw score and the score distribution across all candidates in your session.

What Comes Next: Engineering Admission Timeline

Once revised scores are released, the DTE Maharashtra CAP Round process for engineering admissions begins. Here's the expected flow:

  1. Revised scorecards published on mahacet.org
  2. CAP Round 1 registration opens on DTE Maharashtra portal
  3. Preference list submission — Choose colleges and branches in order of preference
  4. Document verification at Facilitation Centre
  5. CAP Round 1 allotment → Accept seat → Report to allotted college
  6. CAP Round 2 & 3 for candidates who want to upgrade or for vacant seats

Start preparing your document checklist now so you're not scrambling when registration opens.
